Inaugural strokes
Every artist delays the instituting stroke.

It must be an overriding fear
of the clean white page
and that first committing mark
that sets the pace for what's to come.
But once done and down,
the rest unfolds a rhythm
in the repetition of a difference,
one beat at a time,
redplusyellow
beginning with an orange ground
orangefillingup
to support the other colours of the palette
of the painting-yet-to-be,
orangefillswhitewallblackholes
a becoming released
from underneath
and in between
each layered stroke.

I love this. I would realy like to see close ups and would it be possible to post action shoots with some of the kids? What a great project and a great metaphor
for children to live around.
